Larissa & Josh's Downtown Buffalo Wedding | Hotel Lafayette

Hotel Henry, Hoyt Lake at Delaware Park, downtown Buffalo and Main Street - Larissa & Josh wanted to visit so many iconic Buffalo landmarks for their wedding day photos… and you know me, I was beyond thrilled to capture this beautiful couple in some of my favorite Buffalo spots!

Their nuptials took place at St. John's Grace Episcopal Church on Bidwell Parkway in Buffalo's Elmwood Village. This church was stunning - and at over 100 years old, it felt almost otherworldly.

After family photos and some pics with their wedding party around the church, the bride, groom and I headed off on our tour of our Queen City! It was a perfect August day - the weather was ideal - not too hot, not too chilly - and the sun would make an appearance here and there.

When we arrived at Hotel Lafayette for their reception, I was excited to see so many personalized touches in Larissa & Josh's food, decor and favors! Josh is originally from Syracuse New York, so naturally there were oranges in the centerpieces (so cute! - a photo of their rings on an orange was a must) and they gave out chocolate oranges (my favorite!) as favors. Larissa, from a town in PA that makes pretzels, had adorably incorporated pretzels into things like the bride and groom’s wine glasses - and of course there were lots of pretzels (chocolate covered!) to snack on.

The bride’s father made the delicious chocolate cake and the kiddo the bride used to nanny for was the evening’s DJ! It was quite the dance party all night long. And, fun fact, one of the very first receptions held in Hotel Lafayette's new Lafayette Room!

The love and support from their families was so wonderful to see and quite frankly, to feel vibrating through the room that evening. It was a dream wedding day for this incredibly sweet couple! 🖤
